I'd say maybe %10 of my printing is through IOS, however I can go months without printing as it's only when I'm dealing with something that requires a printout, like an airline that doesn't do electronic boarding passes, selling a car etc. Ubuntu 12.04 does airprint out of the box - install the printer on Ubuntu (can be shared/network printer on another machine), change the printer to shared - done. Out of pure curiosity, I think I need to try it this weekend. perhaps utilizing something like IFTTT you could send a web page to Instapaper, Readability, or Pocket and IFTTT could then spit that page out to the Dropbox folder which Automator would then print out. Only thing I can see not working would be printing from within apps or printing a web page.
